I have, and have had, many bikes in my 50 years. Several of them (Suzuki GS650, Yamaha 1100 Virago) have had the condition you describe. It is very unnerving the 1st time that it happens, but just knowing that it happens is 99% of the battle. My experience is that it will happen again. The problem is that in starting the bike we transmit skin oil to the push button area and that attracts dirt. Also minor scratches can develop on the button. Other than learning to live with it you can spray electrical(relay) contact cleaner on the area. That will clean it up without making a mess. Good luck.
